A shopkeeper in Laikipia has gone viral over his comical approach to how Kenyans can budget for their money amid the tough economic times.
From the hustler fund to financial management ahead of the proverbial ’90’ days of January, Anthony Muriuki has offered free financial advice from the confines of his small shop.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday, December 1, Muriuki explained his style of comic relief and his laid down approach to life.
“I think that some times people take life a bit too seriously at times. People should strike a balance between paying bills and living, that is all I advocate for,” he stated.
Muriuki, popularly known by his social media, Tony Mpole, revealed that he is a small scale businessman and runs the shop that features on his videos.
“The shop is in Rumuruti and I sell basic commodities ranging from snacks to basic foodstuff such as maize and wheat flour as well as repackaged sugar.
“In the morning, I go for bread at the local bread depot which I sell to some of the shops within my locality,” he stated.
The soft-spoken content creator stated that he does the skits for leisure but was focused on growing his small shop into a renowned franchise.
“My business is everything I have because I was not fortunate to further my education. I have this interest since I was young and intend to make the most of it,” Muriuki explained.
His hobby has made him an social media sensation, amassing more than 35,000 followers on his TikTok account.
Several Kenyans have been trooping to his page him asking him for advice on planning their finances from investment savings.
