Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Thursday, February 8, responded to a photo of a pupil who went viral for his striking resemblance.
In a statement, Sakaja lauded Kenyans for creativity-stating that he sought to meet the pupil- terming him as the future governor.
Speculations went strife of the governor allegedly adopting the pupil and affirming to pay his entire fees until university.
“Nairobians! I love you too much. Too creative. I would actually want to meet this future Governor. Connect?” Sakaja responded.
The post elicited reactions from Kenyans online after the majority pointed out the resemblance between the duo.
“That boy’s life will never be the same again. I’m sure whether he has parents or not he will be adopted and his education catered for. Whoever took this innocent kid a picture probably was after making fun but boom! The super governor is going to meet him. God just operates mysteriously sometimes.
“All said and done, DNA analysis of people who look alike has revealed that their facial similarities are rooted in shared genetic variants between unrelated pairs. This is a doppelganger phenomenon in genetics and is more than a supernatural coincidence,” Milton Nyamai Guru posted.
“I thought it was you when you were a child. The resemblance is huge,” Wanja Mwaura intimated.
“This is the true heart of benevolence that is supposed to be manifested to anyone who claims to love God,” Patrick Mwitikaibu stated.
On January 21, 2023, another boy won the governor’s heart after he approached him crying during a funeral ceremony at Murumba village, Marachi central, Butula in Busia County.
Carlos Baraza, who won the heart of the governor, received a life-changing opportunity after Sakaja announced that he would sponsor his entire secondary and university education.
“Carlos Baraza is a blessed and brave young man. Carlos came up to me crying in the middle of my condolence message at a funeral in Busia. He passed his KCPE with 354 marks but had no hope due to a lack of fees,” the governor pointed out.
