National Police Service Commission (NPSC) on Thursday, February 9, announced plans to relocate from Skypark Plaza to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Pension Towers.
In a statement, the commission’s CEO, Silas MC’Opiyo, handed over the new office site to the contractors to commence construction.
The new offices, launched in 2023, will be located at CBK Pension Towers from the 6th to the 10th floor along Harambee Avenue.
Since its launch in May 2022, the commercial development has attracted a lot of attention owing to its proximity to the Central Business District (CBD) and multiple business centres.
The building is hailed as one of the most iconic skyscrapers in the country as it has also received praise internationally for its modern outlook.
Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recently relocated to the building from Re-Insurance Plaza. It’s currently located on the 13th floor of the Skyscraper.
On May 26, 2022, CBK pension chairman, Dominic Mwenja, announced that the building was honoured by China before it was opened for operations.
“This building is the coolest and most modern building in the CBD and Nairobi today. I am happy to tell you that Kenyans are creative and can design such an iconic building which has even been featured in China as one of the most ultra-modern buildings in Africa.”
“For that, we are grateful to the team that did this. We have incorporated a fantastic viewing section in this building so that you can have the entire view of the whole county,” Mwenja stated.
Located along Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, the building was built and developed under the CBK Pension Fund. It denotes two shiny sky-blue glass towers facing opposite directions.
The design of the CBK pension towers, handled by Arpim Consultants, symbolizes retired and senior citizens and how they benefit from the pension scheme.
It involves a 27-storey building encompassing office suites, 6 basement levels, and retail stores for private tenants.
