Noah With Students Heading Home for Holiday Involved in Accident

  •  A Noah vehicle with students from St. Clare’s Girls School Maragoli was involved in an accident on Friday afternoon, November 25. 

    The accident occurred at Kipkelion, Kericho County.
     
    Several students were injured and rushed to the Londiani Hospital for immediate medical attention. 

    However, it was uncertain if any deaths were recorded. The number of students involved in the accident and the cause of the carnage was also unascertained by the time of publishing.

    No deaths were The vehicle appeared to have veered off the road before hitting the ground.

    Some of the parts damaged in the accident were the bonnet, windscreen, headlights, side mirrors, and windows, among others.

    From the numerous photos shared, the students that survived were inconsolable as rescue operations continued.

    Area residents gathered to help console and rescue the group of girls.

    The accident came barely a week after a school bus carrying teachers from a funeral rolled several times in Taita Taveta, killing four and leaving several severely injured.

    It involved teachers from the Memon Academy who were travelling home from Kidaya. Survivors of the accident were rushed to the nearby county hospital.

    Motorists have been cautioned by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to be cautious on the road, especially during the festive season.

    From the report released by NTSA, the total number of victims of road accidents from January to October 30, 2022, increased to 17,550 from 16,642 in 2021.
