  • New details have emerged over the disappearance of the Indian TV magnate Zulfiqar Khan, Zaid Sami Kidwai and their driver Nicodemus Mwania after police traced their car along the Nairobi Expressway.

Detectives privy to the matter, intimated that the spot where the vehicle was abandoned had skid marks on the road.

While relaying the information to Kidwai’s wife, Ambreen Kidwai, the police claimed that another car could have intercepted them while in motion.

In accordance with the rules of the expressway, vehicles are not allowed to stop or allow any person to alight to avoid obstruction.

Ambreen had visited Lang’ata police station in a bid to file a report of the missing car that her husband, Zulfiqar and their driver used prior to their mysterious disappearance.

“We then visited the Lang’ata police station and I was able to identify the motor vehicle. I was also taken to the spot where the vehicle was abandoned and I observed that there were skid marks on the road suggesting that another car had intercepted them while in motion,” Kidwai’s wife revealed.

Initially, the wife also claimed to have been turned away by police, while reporting a missing person- 24 hours after her husband disappeared.

According to Ambreen, she was informed that at the time, 48 hours were yet to lapse before a missing person report is filed.

The probe of the mysterious disappearance of the three persons of interest has been a nationwide debate for the past four months.

The Indian government has also been in touch with Kenyan authorities to aid in investigations.

At the beginning of November 2022, an Indian investigation team visited Nairobi and met with officials from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to aid in forensic analysis.

The family of the missing trio has urged police officers to expedite the investigations and trace the whereabouts of their kins.
