Malia Obama was spotted rocking seriously trendy braids that we definitely wanna copy.

The former US First Daughter has been laying low after finishing her first year at Harvard. Before she joined the Ivy League school, Malia was constantly photographed by paparazzi partying hard and being a wild child but it appears that she’s taken a chill pill to concentrate on her studies.

Recently, the 19-year-old was seen in New York city rocking a cool braids trend. Malia was trendy in an athleisure look, featuring leggings, a bralette, chelsea boots and denim jacket. Normally, her signature hairstyle is lengthy straight hair with occasional waves and we rarely see her wearing her hair in box braids. Perhaps she decided to switch up her look for a bit and we are loving it!

The unfinished braids trend seems to be regaining momentum as more and more celebrities and fashion IT girls are rocking the trend. Malia’s box braids had curly unfinished ends and she styled them by tying the mid-section into a half top knot bun and leaving out a small side fringe.

If you do decide to try out the unfinished braids trend, do liaise with your hairdresser first so that she can advise on what braid you need to buy as sometimes, these unfinished braid trends require for you to mix more than one braid to achieve that unfinished effect. You definitely don’t want to copy a trend only to end up looking like a walking catastrophe.
