Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed the only reason he would back President William Ruto’s administration would be based on his community benefitting from developmental projects.
Kalonzo made the revelation while addressing residents during the homecoming party for Ndalani MCA ward Francis Kitaka at, Yatta Subcounty, Machakos County.
In particular, the Wiper party leader highlighted the completion of Thwake dam and the proposed High Grand Falls dam among the various projects which would uplift the residents of Kitui and some parts of Makueni.
“That dam (Thwake) is important together with High Grand Falls Dam in Tharaka. We said we will work with Ruto so our people can benefit and get food security.”
“The proposed Yatta dam should be made a top priority because it will supply water in Matuu in Yatta, all the way to Kitui and parts of Makueni,” Kalonzo stated in his local dialect.
“Then there is the ongoing construction of Thwake dam which Ruto has an obligation to complete. Once complete, the water will be used to irrigate huge tracts of land and service the upcoming Konza Techno City,” he added.
Kalonzo, however, pointed out that despite his opposition duty, he would still advocate for development for Kitui and Makueni residents.
“Although I am in the opposition, I am a crusader of development and we will continue to execute our role as we wait for God’s time,” he stated.
While unveiling his 2027 presidential ambitions, Kalonzo noted that he would wage fierce competition for the current president.
“We have seen everything and I beseech every Kamba to get ready because there is nothing now that can prevent a Kamba from becoming president of Kenya. My only competitor is Ruto and he already knows, in fact, the other day he said he knows his only competitor is Kalonzo.”
“The reason I agreed to support Raila for the third time is that I love my country. Now Luos are speaking like Kikuyu (In reference to Kikuyus paying Ruto for 2014/2017 support), they are saying Kalonzo for 2027,” he noted.
