Kipsigis community clans secretary general Joel Kimetto, Friday called on Gen Zs countrywide to give President William Ruto time to address their concerns.
Kimetto reminded the Gen-Zs that continued demonstrations at a time when the president had accepted the dialogue, will lead stall the development of the nation.
While speaking to the Star on the telephone, Kimetto told the Gen-Z youth to go for dialogue as they had been requested by the president to address national matters affecting them.
He welcomed youth in Kericho for conducting peaceful demonstrations despite some reported cases of looting and vandalism in Kericho county.
Kimetto who represents some 200 Kipsigis clans urged the Gen Z youth in Kericho to call off further demonstrations and extend the same message to their colleagues countrywide.
The secretary-general regretted that the Gen Z demos had taken dangerous political dimensions that risked the development and the security of this country.
Kimetto called on police to value the lives of demonstrators by avoiding the use of live bullets while dealing with those hell-bent.
“Use teargas and not live bullets as life lost from a trigger-happy police officer will never be recovered,” Kimetto said.
