Equally, the cabinet resolved that all public engagements presided over by the President, the Deputy President, Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and all other cadres of State or Public Officers will be marked by the planting of a designated minimum number of trees under various categories of between 200 to 500 seedlings.Ā

On November 11, 2022, President Ruto directed that the defunct Kazi Mtaani Programme would be converted into a tree-planting initiative.

The Head of State affirmed that the move will help mitigate the adverse effects of climate change being witnessed in the country.

On matters economy, cabinet approved ā€œExport-Led Growthā€ where Kenya is to strengthen existing partnerships under the East African Community, Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) and the UK.

In a bid to position Kenya as the ideal investment partner, cabinet approved the hosting of the Kenya International Investment Conference in the 3rd quarter of the 2022/2023 financial year.

This is to profile investment opportunities such as Public-Private Partnerships, Foreign Direct Investments in energy and affordable housing.
