In an act of goodwill, the politician also bought uniforms for the student. Further, Buzeki offered to mentor the young boy in order to nurture his talent.

Efforts by to reach Kiprop to comment were futile.

The selfless act by the businessman was lauded by Kenyans online who commended him for taking Cheruiyot under his wing.

The boy made headlines after a video of him running to school while in uniform alongside marathoners went viral on Thursday, July 15.

The video soon caused a buzz as Kenyans were amazed at Cheruiyot’s zeal and determination.

The student detailed his plight, pointing out that he faced financial constraints with his aunt unable to keep up with the rising fee arrears.

The challenges, however, did not deter Cheruiyot who resorted to running to school – approximately four kilometers from his home in Greenfield Village to the school.

Neto Goncalves, a Brazilian coach, took notice of the student’s talent and resorted to aid him in realising his dreams.

“Dennis told me that he loves the sport, especially athletics, and dreams of being a champion. He added that he would dedicate himself to achieving his dreams.

“I knew I would have many great experiences and would learn in Kenya. With this boy, I learned a lot more about determination, dreams, and the will to win. Dennis, may your life be very successful. Thank you for the example to all of us,” Goncalves stated.
