  • While on the streets of Nairobi, a young man caught the attention of the county boss Johnson Sakaja.

According to the governor, the street boy approached him and pleaded for help to go back to school.

“This young man touched my heart. He walked up to me and said he wanted to go to school,” Sakaja stated.

Sakaja shared the good news on Tuesday, November 15, noting that he will go to school as his fees will be paid.

“He has now found a family, I see a bright future, “Sakaja shared.

Additionally, the governor stated that the young man had been living on the streets after being abandoned despite the ongoing heavy rains and the risks of living in the CBD.

Sakaja also shared photos of the boy in his office at City Hall with a big smile on his face.

In some of the photos, the boy is seated in Sakaja’s seat as the governor sits on the opposite side together with one of the county staff.

Seemingly, from the two photos, the he got a change of clothes and shoes. Sakaja however, did not disclose the age of the lucky city resident.

The young man also accompanied the governor on his inspection of the city alongside other county officials on Monday, November 14.

Later in the day, Sakaja held a joint presser with Inspector General Japhet Koome and other police bosses and declared strategies to curb the rampant muggings in the capital.

“Order and sanity will be restored to our city. We shall not compromise on security,” Sakaja declared.

“When the riders come to town, they will have drop-off points and specific drop-off stages. We have already started the process,” he added on dealing with boda boda riders.
