President Uhuru Donates 10 Buses To Schools

  • President Uhuru Kenyatta has today, September 10, donated 10 buses to different schools and learning institutions across the country.

    The buses were donated to Tumutumu Secondary School for the deaf in Nyeri County, Marifano High School in Tana River County, Achego Girls In Kisumu County and Olorukuti Secondary School in Narok County.

    Besides the schools, the President donated other buses to groups and communities, including The Catholic Women Association of Maralal Diocese and Marafiki Footbal club in Nyeri County.

    Other beneficiaries of the initiative included Rukanga Secondary School in Kirinyaga County, Mnagei Secondary School in West Pokot County and AIC Moi Girls Maralal and Kisima Girls from Samburu County.

    The President donated the buses at a ceremony he held at State House.

    The brief cocktail party was to acknowledge the presence of Estonian President, Kersti Kaljulaid, who is in Kenya on a three-day State visit.

    Her excellency, Kaljulaid is the first president from Estonia to ever visit Kenya. Besides other State functions, President Kaljulaid is in Kenya for bilateral engagements.

    The party was attended by a number of political leaders. The leader of Majority, Samuel Poghisio and Samburu County MP Maison Leshomo was in the meeting.

    MPs from Samburu West, Garsen, Nyeri Town, Kieni, Muhoroni, Mwea and Othaya were present.

    Besides the leaders, the ceremony was attended by teachers and students who got gifted the buses.

    In addition to the buses, the President also gave 2000 washable masks to each of these institutions with the aim of helping curb covid-19.
