  • The Abduction – This is the title of a reenactment of digital strategist Dennis Itumbi’s alleged kidnapping by unknown men in December 2021.

Its actors depict how the incident reportedly unfolded, to recollect viewers memories.

“On December 23, 2021, Dennis Itumbi was abducted and tortured by the police. This is a trailer of the re-enactment of that tragic incident. The full clip will premiere on Sunday 13 at 9am on Hustler Nation TV YouTube channel,†the caption of the clip on the page reads.

The 0.57 seconds short clip starts with a news bite by Citizen TV anchor, Yvonne Okwara, reporting Itumbi’s reported abduction.

Her telecast is accompanied by investigative reporting music in the background.

“Deputy President William Ruto’s digital strategist, Dennis Itumbi is missing,†Okwara reads.

The clip breaks and is followed by other clips by NTV’s Zaina Ismail and ex-KTN News Akisa Wandera, both focusing on how the DP and his allies condemned the alleged abduction.

An actor dressed in a dark suit, who closely resembles Itumbi, is dragged into the back seat of a saloon car. The victim, in fact, has a bald head – Itumbi’s trademark look, and is wearing a white shirt and a purple tie.

“Sit here! Kaa hapo!†the aggressors shouted. One of them, wearing a white cap and red t-shirt jumps in, pushes ‘Itumbi’ to the far end and locks the door.

The actor playing Itumbi can be seen clutching the driver’s seat attempting to resist.

    The car speeds away

At an undisclosed location, ‘Itumbi’ is heard panting, with his hands tied behind his back and a hood over his head, to block him from seeing.

The aggressor in a red t-shirt opens the car’s boot and can be heard sharpening a metallic object – probably a knife.

They then drag ‘Itumbi’ out of the car and assault him. Blows and kicks, then leave him lying on the floor, helpless and unconscious.

Itumbi retweeted a post by Hustler Nation TV on Twitter, that shared the reenactment.

The slogan Hustler Nation is associated with Deputy President William Ruto, who believes in the bottom-up economic model.

This reenactment comes a day before Itumbi holds a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate his release, freedom, survival and recovery.

“Hello, Good People. This is a long letter. I am writing to invite you to a small village – Kitharaini, Gichugu, Kirinyaga County. Specifically to a small church to give thanks,†Itumbi captioned the invitation poster on his social media pages.
