  • The Kenya National Highways Authority ( KeNHA ) has notified motorists that a section of Lang’ata Road will experience traffic disruptions in the coming weeks.

A statement by KeNHA on Saturday, January 15, indicated that traffic will be disrupted at the T-Mall Roundabout.

This follows a planned closure of the road to pave way for the erection of the T-Mall Flyover.

In the statement, KeNHA explained that the road will be closed from Monday, January 17 to Saturday, January 22, 2022.

In a bid to ease movement, KeNHA further stated that the construction work is scheduled to operate at night between 9.00 pm to 5.00 am during the period.

Motorists were also cautioned that the Nyayo Stadium – Langata bound traffic will be diverted at Madaraka Roundabout through the Ole Sangale Road into Raila Odinga Way (formerly Mbagathi Way) into T – Mall Roundabout towards Langata.

KeNHA advised road users to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.

They were further urged to exercise caution and road courtesy while driving, to enhance management of traffic.

The highway authority shared a proposed management plan that would see traffic being diverted onto the oncoming lane.

On Friday, January 14, KeNHA announced areas that would experience traffic disruption due to the ongoing construction on the Nairobi Expressway.

The authority cautioned commuters, motorists, and other road users to brace for snarl-up and congestions.

One of the areas is General Motors (GM) which has faced traffic disruptions recently due to multiple diversions created in the area. At the moment, contractors are building a road that will link the GM area to the Nairobi Expressway.

Mlolongo area will also experience traffic congestion owing to the erection of a new pedestrian footbridge. KeNHA has since advised all road users to exercise caution while driving or travelling around the area.

Those seeking to join Mombasa Road from areas around Syokimau and other adjacent areas were also warned of the disruption after access to the service lane was blocked.
