  • Chama Cha Kazi Party leader Moses Kuria has revealed that he was disappointed by leaders from United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who failed to attend his thanksgiving event.

Speaking at Thika Stadium, on Saturday, February 19, Kuria accused top UDA leadership of ordering its leaders to stay away from his thanksgiving prayer event.

Kuria alleged that he had asked Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro to MC at the occasion but UDA called a meeting and advised its leaders not to participate in any manner at the prayer event.

“I want to recognize this man, he is a friend indeed. When I called for this meeting I called Kabando was Kabando and told him I want him to be a joint MC with MP Ndindi Nyoro,” the Gatundu South MP stated.

“Some people thought this was a political meeting and UDA held a meeting and told its members not to attend this meeting. It is only the legal affairs secretary of UDA, my good friend Lawyer Edward Mureu who has chosen to come,” he added.

Kuria launched a veiled attack on Deputy President William Ruto, noting that he lost Parliamentary Committee positions due to his affiliation with UDA and his outspoken support for the party.

The MP noted that he suffered losses yet he chose to stand firm and support UDA and its leaders but when he needed them they abandoned him.

He also revealed that he held a private conversation with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Head of State assured him that he will be retiring after his term ends in August.

The MP also warned other lawmakers from insulting Uhuru noting that the Mt Kenya region will not take it lightly with legislators who hurl insults at the President. Kuria who has been away in Dubai receiving treatment urged the Central region to support Kenyatta as his second and final terms nears end.

“There is something that is making me angry, no one should insult our president. Let them wait for theirs and they can do that… we are going to escort the president with respect as he finishes his term,” he stated.

He also noted that he will not be coerced into supporting any Presidential candidate and he will focus on pushing the Mt Kenya agenda as well as popularising candidates under his CCK party.
