Speaking during a press conference at a Nairobi hotel, the Senator stated that he would not defend his seat or vie for any political position in this General Election but would continue to campaign for Deputy President William Ruto.
“I have decided to take a break from active politics starting Aug 10. After soul-searching, I have decided to remain in UDA and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance. I have pledged my total commitment to support Kenya Kwanza running mate Rigathi Gachagua and our party leader DP William Ruto,” Kindiki remarked.
His decision came after he lost the running mate race to Gachagua in chaotic negotiations held at Ruto’s office. The Senator, had some time stormed out of the residence over differences on the process.
