Three Regional Commissioners, the six senior officers were directed to move from their current stations with immediate effect.
Regional Commissioners Esther Maina (Central), Mohamed Maalim (Rift Valley) and Magu Mutindika (Nyanza) were ordered to facilitate the transfer of the six County Commissioners in the new changes.
Commissioners Jim Nyaga Njoka, Muhumed Mohamed Barre, Wilson Opwora Wanyanga, Joshua Muriungi Nkanatha, Abdulla Galgalo Hiddi and Moses Mutunga Ivuto were affected by the changes ordered by PS Kibicho.
Njoka was transferred from Kirinyaga to Siaya while Barre moved from Siaya to Nyeri.
Commissioners Wanyanga and Nkanatha were transferred from Kiambu and Kajiado respectively. They were directed to report to the opposite stations.
Hiddi was transferred from Nyeri to the Office of the President headquarters while Ivuto was promoted from Senior Deputy County Commissioner 1, in Kirinyaga West Sub-County to county commissioner in the county.
In February 2022, PS Kibicho reshuffled 132 deputy county commissioners (DCC) across the 47 counties.
PS Kibicho directed the Regional Commissioners (RCs) to effect the changes immediately, a move that came in the backdrop of another mass transfer of senior police officers across the 47 counties.
“The transfer of the under listed Deputy County Commissioners has been agreed upon for immediate implementation. The officers should be released to report to their new stations immediately,” the memo directed.
James Kiprotich was transferred from Msambweni to the Office of the President (OOP) headquarters while Alinoor Ibrahim was repositioned from OOP to Bungoma Central.
George Wakiama was transferred to Yala, Siaya County to Ganze while Louis Kipngetich assumed the role of Wakiama in Ganze. Jane Katuse was moved from the office of the Nairobi RC to Kilungu, Makueni County.
Other officers affected by the changes were Elvis Koris who was transferred from OOP to West Pokot while Joseph Kipkoris was moved from West Pokot to Bangale.
All these changes effected at CS Fred Matiangi’s ministry come less than six months before the country goes to the August polls.
