The former Kass FM presenter Joshua Arap Sang is a man rising steadily in the media industry, currently holding the position of deputy head of radio division at Mediamax Network Limited, a position he was appointed to in August 2019.

According to a source who spoke to kenyagist.com, Sang, who is a close friend of Deputy President William Ruto, proved to be a man destined to rise in the company, after he earned the promotion to deputise the head of radio at the broadcaster after only one month in the company.

“Sang came to Mediamax Limited in June 2019 where he joined as the head of Kalenjin radio Emoo FM.

“In less than two months, the management communicated through an internal memo that Sang had been promoted to the position of deputy head of radio division,” remarked the source.

The popular presenter even got close to ascending to the highest position in the division, when he was appointed as the acting head of radio when the position fell vacant after Joyce Gituro left in July 2019.

Sang would, however, relinquish the position in November 2019 after the position was filled by the management where he resorted to his deputy head position.

The presenter has for long been a favorite among members of the Kalenjin community, where he had been a morning show host at Kass FM and head of operations, a position he reassumed on his return to radio on Emoo FM.

On September 13, 2013, the presenter was charged at the International Criminal Court ICC at the Hague, Netherlands, for alleged participation in the 2007/2008 post-election violence, a trial that led to him quitting his role as a presenter.

Sang was charged alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto, where their charges were later dropped on April 5, 2016, due to lack of enough evidence by the ICC prosecution led by Chief prosecutor Louis Moreno Ocampo.

“The Chamber considered the requests of Mr. Ruto and Mr. Sang that the Chamber finds that there is ‘no case to answer’, dismiss the charges against both accused and enter a judgment of acquittal.”

“On the basis of the evidence and arguments submitted to the Chamber, Presiding Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji and Judge Robert Fremr, as the majority, agreed that the charges are to be vacated and the accused are to be discharged,” read the ruling from the ICC in part.

After vacation of the case on Sang, went forward to front his intention to vie for the Uasin Gishu senatorial position.

Sang also alluded to the fact that he would relaunch his media career in a Christian TV and radio station before he joining politics.

The presenter would, however, drop his ambitions for the political position, only to announce his comeback to the media after a seven-year break.
