The six included a grandmother, her three children and two grandchildren who were inside the house when the incident happened.
Witnesses claim that the doors were locked from outside when the incident happened at Nguthuru village in Kandara Constituency, Murang’a County.
A report by Citizen TV indicates that the grandmother’s sister has been arrested in connection with the arson believed to have emanated from family wrangles.
The main suspect in the attack is said to have moved out of the house just days before the house burned down.
By the time of publishing this story, police officers had taken over and cordoned off the scene of the accident which showed the roofing of the house burned down.
Police have launched investigations into the incident and are still holding the suspect at Kabati police station.
