Churchill Forced to Cancel Show

Veteran comedian Daniel Ndambuki, better known has Churchill has been forced to cancel the Live recording of Churchill Show South C Edition.

In a notice dated March 13, 2020, the veteran comedian announced that the recording which had been scheduled to be held at the South C MoW Sports Club had been cancelled over the coronavirus scare.

“We regrettably wish to inform our loyal fans, supporters and general public that the live recording of Churchill Show South C Edition scheduled for Saturday, March 14, has been cancelled.

The dome that had been prepared in readiness for the Churchill Show South C edition.


“This is in line with the government’s directive about public events in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic as well as consultations with Public Works Ministry leadership, with the office of Major General (retired) Gordon Kihalangwa at his office,” the statement reads.

Churchill clarified that despite the cancellation, the tickets still remained valid and that the event would be held at a later date to be confirmed as soon as the government allows for the resumption of public events.

In the statement, Churchill announced that while the live recording had been cancelled in the meantime, the airing of the show on TV would go on as scheduled.

“We would like to take this time to apologize to every one of you who was looking forward to the event as it was never our intention to disappoint all of you.

“We would like to assure you of the continuity of your favourite program on TV every Sunday as scheduled,” the statement concluded.

The South C edition of the show had been hyped as a celebration of legendary rapper Issah Mmari Wangui, popularly known as E-sir, who was killed in a road accident on March 16, 2003.

On the fateful Sunday, E-Sir was travelling back to Nairobi from Nakuru where he had performed at Dimples Club the previous evening during the Miss Tourism Nakuru contest.
