Celebrated K24 TV presenter Betty Kyallo teamed up with her celebrity friend and chef Tracy Macharia to prepare a meal for workers at the Mbagathi Hospital.

In a post on her social media pages on Saturday, May 2, Kyallo took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the medics for allowing them to be part of the team contributing to the efforts to stamp out the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Yesterday my friend Chef Tracy Macharia and I decided to do a little something for some of the health workers at Mbagathi. It was just a way to say thank you for the great work they are doing in this pandemic,” she stated.

Kyallo thanked the hospital’s management for giving them the rare chance to access the facility and render the service to the medics, and also for according them the support they needed to make the venture a success.

“I want to personally thank the administration for allowing us to do this. It was worth the hard work. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, clinicians, lab technicians plus all the support staff including cleaners and guards.

“Also a big thank you to the kitchen staff led by Solomon who together with his team led us so well till we were done,” Betty Kyallo wrote on her Instagram page.

She further stated that the team managed to feed over 150 members of staff serving at the facility, which she attributed to Macharia’s creativity and dexterity with the meals.

Tracy Macharia is a celebrity chef who even made an appearance on Betty Kyallo’s K24 TV show Weekend With Betty on April 25, 2020, where she showcased her cooking skills.

Betty Kyallo joins many Kenyans who have come together to pay tribute to the medics serving at the frontline in the war against the Covid 19 pandemic.

Her decision to cook for the medics comes at a time when the country has in part adopted a habit of clapping every Wednesday at noon to express solidarity and support for Kenya’s frontline soldiers.

NTV took this celebration a notch higher on the night of Friday, May 1, when it marked 50 days since the outbreak of the virus was first reported in the country with a message of gratitude.
