A magistrate Court is expected to conduct a pre-trial conference in the 2008 Triton oil scandal facing oil tycoon Yagnesh Devani

The last time the matter was in court the Prosecution said they were yet to comply with earlier directions issued.

They were yet to serve some of the documents required for trial as they had been produced as exhibits in a similar case before a different court.

They sought more time to comply and were asked to appear in court today.

Separately, the defence hearing of seven people accused of violently robbing two women on the same night they allegedly murdered former Kabete MP George Muchai proceeds today.

In the High Court, the accused persons are facing a separate charge of killing Muchai, his two bodyguards Samuel Kailikia and Samuel Matanta, and his driver Stephen Wambugu on February 7, 2015, on Kenyatta Avenue, in Nairobi.

Before the magistrate’s court, they are facing multiple robberies with violence charges in which two sisters Gladys Waithera and Irene Muthoni are complainants. The matter is before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina.

Waithera and Muthoni were allegedly carjacked before the former MP was killed.

The two sisters were also witnesses in the murder trial.

Eric Isabwa, Raphael Kimani, Mustapha Kimani, Stephen Astiva, Jane Wanjiru, Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu have denied the 10 counts of robbery with violence charges involving six other victims.

The case used to proceed at City Hall court but was moved to the Milimani Law Courts.

The courts have since found that the seven have a case to answer after the prosecution presented 36 witnesses to prove its case.
