First lady Rachel Ruto was treated to a birthday celebration while attending a church service in Karen, Nairobi county.
Rachel, who was in the company of President William Ruto at the Faith Evangelistic Family Church was gifted a ruby necklace by the church evangelist, Teresia Wairimu.
Prior to being gifted the rare gemstone, the First Lady was called upon to move to the altar where the pastor and the choir were standing.
She was then informed that the church had something special prepared to celebrate her birthday.
Another unidentified lady stated that Pastor Wairimu was gifting the First Lady with a rare gemstone likening her to the gift.
The lady then proceeded to read a special poem – dedicated to Rachel.
“I have referred to you as queen Rachel, a special ruby. She is more precious than rubies and all the things you may desire. They cannot be compared to her – Proverbs 3:15.
“A ruby symbolises profound wisdom, exquisite excellence, excess love, true devotion, and fiery passion. You are a precious ruby. You are a prayer warrior for the nation that has touched the heart of God. We celebrate you,” the poem read
The lady then proceeded to crown the First Lady with the necklace as the congregation arose in celebration.
Rachel thanked the pastor even as the choir burst into a birthday song to celebrate the First Lady.
Afterwards, Pastor Wairimu noted that Rachel was a special person to her and her church revealing that she works in the church.
“She is a coworker. She heads the department of plants. All these plants that you are seeing are grown on her farm.
“When she is not working in her house, she is on the farm working on the flowers to bring them to the church of God,” Wairumu divulged.
The church service was also attended by Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, and Kiharu Member of parliament Ndindi Nyoro among other leaders.
