According to a report by the Kenya News Agency (KNA) on Thursday, April 16, the episode too at Kwenik- ap- Ilet village in Ndarawetta Location where area Chief Zephaniah Koech had sought reinforcement from his colleagues to arrest a notorious brewer.
The chief reportedly also received reinforcements from Nyumba Kumi elders but on getting there, they were met with a rude shock when the brewer emerged with bow and arrows, forcing them to flee.
The brewer is reported to have struck after bars and restaurants were closed by the government’s directive as a measure to control the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, a matter that the brewer completely disregarded.

According to witnesses, the brewer’s appearance with the crude weapons forced the officers to scamper into the nearby tea farm to save their lives, leaving some of the people in the group nursing injuries.
The reports further indicate that the chiefs were forced to contact police officers who came and spent three hours trying to corner the brewer before they caught him while he tried to cross a river and flee.
He will be arraigned in court to where charges will be preferred against him.
The incident comes barely a week after a disabled woman from Kipkabius location in Uasin Gishu underwent a nasty ordeal at the hands of a rogue village chief Jeremiah Muge Chemwalo who beat her up before pouring illicit liquor on her.
Chepkoech Kigen a disabled mother of two is one of the two women whose photos made rounds online inviting an uproar from Kenyans who expressed concern on how they were handled.
Chepkoech who earns a living by selling outlawed the brew commonly referred to as Busaa alleged that the chief found her in her compound while conducting a search for outlawed alcohol.
The administrative officer proceeded to beat her up before finally getting one of the drums that had busaa in it and pouring it over her body.
