Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has shied away from the public limelight since he handed over power to the incumbent William Ruto on Tuesday, September 13.
With speculations rife that he would retire at his expansive 4,000-acre farm in Gicheha, Nakuru county, photos however surfaced on social media this past week of the former president spending his retirement days in Narok.
This was particularly at a joint on the outskirts of Narok Town known as Zebu Lounge.
Staff at the hotel who spoke to the press revealed that the former Head of State made reservations for about ten special guests prior to his visit on Thursday, October 13.
Much to their surprise, Uhuru made a grand entry- with a motorcade of six vehicles.
“It was an ordinary reservation made for about 10 people and to our surprise, the former President and his entourage made a grand entry,” the hotel staff told Nation.
The staff was taken aback by the former president’s calm and friendly demeanour as he interacted with them in a casual manner.
Reports indicated that the president is likely to spend his retirement days at his retirement home in Transmara.
The 1,000-acre ranch, which overlooks the Maasai Mara National park, is located in Oloolmongi, Lolgorian Ward.
Uhuru reportedly purchased the ranch from Olerien and Kengani group in 2020 and is also speculated to set up a tourist lodge on his other piece of land in the county.
Honour Promise
The former president continued with his vacation in Narok County after on Sunday, October 16, he delivered a 53-seater bus to Partakilat Primary School. Uhuru kept the promise he made during his tenure as president.
