During girl child’s day, Celebrated on October 11, Kenya has been ranked numerously among the top countries supporting women’s rights.

Part of the reasons include the implementation of laws favorable to women’s well-being and empowerment such as the decriminalization of pornography, sex trafficking and gang rape.

The country is also among the countries that signed the Beijing agreement on women empowerment in 1995 and continues to support it.

The Government of Kenya, in June 2013, introduced free maternity for all women in public health facilities which is championed by the first lady Margaret Kenyatta.

Everyone joining the He-For-She movement is expected to sign up online and then sign a banner pledging their solidarity in advocating for gender equality.
