Three heavily armed robbers were on Thursday exposed after being caught on CCTV cameras stealing from a supermarket in Gilgil, Nakuru.
The incident, that occurred on Monday evening, showed how well the robbery was planned.
The criminals are suspected to have surveyed Fauna supermarket on Sunday before they carried out the act.
During the mapping out operation, two of the thieves were seen heading into the supermarket where one of them went to buy airtime while the other kept watch while noting the positions of the cameras on the outside.
The inspection mission by the two lasted for a min as reported by Citizen TV.
According to the owner of the supermarket, Anne Wambui, all the three robbers were armed with pistols and made away with phones and money worth Ksh 100, 000.
“Two of them were in the same attire they were seen in on Sunday.
“One was putting on a white-purple shirt with black buttons while the other was putting on white sports shoes,” stated Wambui.
The gang of three went on to rob an unsuspecting customer who had driven to the supermarket.
“I heard them converse that we have to leave since there is a vehicle that just arrived outside.
“They then left the premise,” remarked the supermarket owner.
The thieves, after the incident, fled on motorbikes that were on standby during the whole ordeal.
