Standard Effects Leadership Changes at KTN, Radio & Newspaper Division

  • Standard Group has announced a major leadership reshuffle in their newsroom with the aim of streamlining their operations.

    Through the announcement made by Editor in Chief Ochieng’ Rapuro, the changes are in line with their plan to converge the entire newsroom.

    In the latest leadership changes, KTN presenter, Sophia Wanuna, who was acting Broadcast Editor resumed her role as the Deputy Broadcast Editor.

    Fred Indimuli who recently joined the media house has been promoted to become the new politics editor from his previous role as the outpost editor. Roselyn Obala has assumed the post of a city editor moving away from the politics editor desk which has been given to Indimuli.

    In the senior-most positions in the newsroom, Kizito Namulanda has been appointed editor in charge of innovation and content. Initially, he served as the project manager and is also as the pioneer intake editor.

    Nzau Musau has received a promotion taking over the role of intake editor. Musau worked as continuity editor when Standard Group was adapting into the converged newsroom.

    The deputy editor’s role has been given to Ng’ang’a Mbugua who was formerly at the Nation as a senior editor.

    John Mwaura takes up the position of continuity editor that was previously held by Nzau. The entertainment desk has also been affected by the changes.

    Stevens Muendo, the longtime editor of the Pulse pullout magazine, has taken up a new role as entertainment editor –  taking over from Wairimu Nyingi who was deployed to the quality assurance desk as an editor.

    Other changes announced in Standard media include Former city editor Amos Kareithi who now becomes the new deputy editor for politics and seasoned education reporter Augustine Odour appointed deputy editor in charge of the city desk.

    Eddy Talam was confirmed as the Deputy Editor in charge of counties while Mark Oloo and Nicholas Asego will take new roles as quality assurance editors at the Print Hub. They resume the roles with immediate effect.
