Miguna Addresses Plan to Sneak Into Kenya

  •  Exiled lawyer, Miguna Miguna, has addressed Kenyans urging him to sneak into the country after the government failed to lift red alerts that barred him from coming back home.

The lawyer, on Tuesday morning, November 16, cautioned his followers from pushing him to break the law as he was hell-bent on respecting the Constitution and the rule of law.

A section of his fans called on him to sneak into Kenya via Uganda. However, the seasoned attorney argued that the move would escalate the tension between him and the government. Miguna further warned that he would face severe consequences as President Uhuru Kenyatta would reportedly seize such a moment to enforce punitive measures.

“Those asking me to fly to Uganda then cross the border “unlawfully” into Kenya must understand that the Red Alerts stop airlines from flying me to any African country.

“Also, acting unlawfully would give the despot an excuse to justify his action and to brand me a persona non grata,†Miguna tweeted.

“You are wrong. Both Lufthansa and Air France have told me that the Red Alerts prevent them from flying me to any destination in Africa. Focus on the unlawfulness of the Red Alerts, their use to facilitate disobedience of court orders and human rights violations,†he urged his followers to desist from encouraging him to disobey the law.

The lawyer also lashed back at individuals who asked him to attempt flying into the country in disguise or hiring a private jet.

“Can you hire one for me? More seriously, even private jets need clearance to fly over a country’s airspace. At the moment, Uhuru Kenyatta has abducted the Kenyan airspace and will either shoot your jet down or deny it landing. Let us reflect carefully before tweeting,†Miguna explained.

On Monday, November 15, Miguna was blocked from boarding a Nairobi bound Air France plane. Miguna, who was stuck in Berlin, had booked a plane ticket to Nairobi a fortnight ago – on October 29.

In a statement posted on his social media pages, the lawyer heightened his onslaught on Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga.

“To Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga; I will never surrender. I will keep speaking the truth forever. Just checked into a hotel in Berlin. The struggle for social justice will continue. Viva!†He tweeted a few hours after the Nairobi bound plane departed.

His efforts to come back home from Canada were further dented after the High Court declined to lift Red Alerts. Justice Edwin Okundi ruled that there was no evidence showing that Miguna had been stopped from returning to the country.
