According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Roseline’s son is the main suspect behind the murder case.Â
The police further explained that the tutor’s body was found by the suspect’s brother who had gone to visit her at the school’s staff quarters.Â
The brother’s attempts to access the house were futile as the door was locked from the inside. A few minutes later, the 27-year-old suspect opened the door, with the brother rushing towards the house to check on his mother. He, however, stumbled upon the charred remains of his mother in the bathroom.Â
“The brother immediately stepped inside the house looking for his mother in the living room and bedroom to no avail. But on approaching the bathroom, he stumbled on the charred remains of his mother. ”
“A few minutes later, he heard some movements from inside the house and after a while, the suspect opened the door. With apprehension exhibited all over his brother’s face, his intuition told him that something was amiss.”
“He immediately stepped inside the house looking for his mother in the living room and bedroom to no avail. But on approaching the bathroom, he stumbled on the charred remains of his dear mother,” the police stated.
Officers from Rabuor police station responded immediately after they were alerted of the incident. The officers recovered paraffin in a mug and also pointed out that the bathroom’s walls had been blackened with smudge soot. The police suspect Roseline’s son doused her with paraffin and set her ablaze.Â
“Also recovered from the scene was a kitchen knife beside the woman’s body and a lantern lamp with an open knob. All the recovered items have been kept as an exhibit.”
Detectives affirmed that the body of the deceased was moved to a county morgue pending autopsy. Further, the son was apprehended and taken in for processing as he awaits to be arraigned.Â
