Omollo plays professionally for Cercle Brugge in Belgium, a club ranĀ by the same group that owns French side AS Monaco.
The top defensive midfielder went on one kneeĀ in the streets of theĀ ‘City of love’, taking out a ring before asking Mumbi to marry him.
Omollo revealed on Instagram that while Gladys said yes, she appeared even more nervous than him and asked him to quickly stand up.

Omollo’s stock in football has risen over the past year and he is now recognised as one of Kenya’s top internationals on and off the pitch.
In December, he received the prestigious Merit Award from FIFPro, the global representative body for professional footballers, in recognition of his work in Nairobi’s Dandora area with the Johanna Omollo Foundation.
Omollo was also featured on theĀ Players Tribune,Ā one of the world’s leading sports publications focused on telling athletes’ stories.Ā
He already lives with Mumbi in Brugge, Belgium and they have a daughter together.
His fiance is a businesswoman working in the fashion industry. She also took to social media to share the big news, posting, ā2020 couldnāt have started any better than this.ā
Omollo’s career began with Dandora Youth FC in Nairobi and has been playing in Belgium since 2007.
