  • A scientific test has put Migori Governor Okoth Obado at the heart of the investigations into the abduction and subsequent murder of Sharon Otieno, who was seven months pregnant.

On Wednesday, detectives and government scientists confirmed beyond biological doubt that the baby killed in the slain Rongo University student was fathered by Okoth Obado.

After conducting tests on the governor Obado, his aid Michael Oyamo, a DNA test report singled out the county boss’s genealogy to be perfectly matching that of the foetus interred at the home of Sharon’grandfatherer on Friday last week.

“There are 99.9+% more chances that Zachariah Obado is the biological father of the donor of the DNA generated from the foetus that is Sharon Otieno’s child.

“Michael Juma Oyamo is excluded as the biological father of the foetus,” reads a report as quoted by Daily Nation.

After receiving the DNA findings, the detectives handling the matter held that Governor Obado will have to record another statement IN Nairobi alongside his wife Hellen.

Hellen was declared a person of interest in the murder scheme after being named alongside her close associates during the grilling of suspects.

A clerk in Obado’s administration, Caspal Obiero, is being held after being found to have been with the car used in the abduction of Sharon alongside nation Journalist Barack Oduor.

Obiero’s wife, Olivia Oloo who is also an employee in  Obado’s administration owns the car used to facilitate the abduction of Sharon.

Olivia told the police that her husband was in possession of the car at the time the incidents occurred.
